The Community Action Initiative supports community-based projects with a specific focus on addressing mental health and substance use challenges in BC. We also provide funding to help service providers enhance their capacity to serve individuals and families experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.
Our funding areas are inclusive of activities across the mental health and substance use response continuum, and we aim to achieve a balanced representation across demographic groups and geographic areas in the province. At least 25% of our grant resources are dedicated to projects led by Aboriginal-mandated organizations.
