What This Grantee Is Doing for Community Counselling

Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Community Services is part of a provincial network of centers providing free, integrated health and social services. CAI's COVID-19 Surge Fund supports their program Foundry Ridge Meadows, which aims to transform health and social services for young people ages 12-24, by offering low-barrier, self-referral access to services. Core services offered at Foundry Centers across the province include mental health and substance use services, primary care services, social and recreation services, and youth and care-giver peer support. Counselling services addresses mental health and substance use concerns and includes individual and/or family counselling.

The COVID-19 Surge Fund supports the addition of a clinical counsellor to their mental health team, as well as support hours from a Clinical Director for staff. This funding also supported technology equipment upgrades to allow for increased remote access to video conferencing.
