What This Grantee Is Doing for Community Counselling

Family Services of the North Shore offers no fee/low fee counselling on a sliding fee scale. Their Masters' level counsellors see individual clients, couples, families, and groups for a variety of issues. Counselling is delivered in-person, by telephone, or online. Family Services of the North Shore also provides clients with opportunities to access additional wrap around services within the agency such as LGBTQ2S+ supports, gender based violence supports, eating disorder support, and senior and caregiver support.

Quote

"The most significant impact of the CAI Community Counselling funding is the ability to provide additional no cost/low cost and barrier free counselling to the North Shore community. Single mothers who have left abusive situations and have no access to resources are able to access mental health supports because of this funding. Men who have survived childhood trauma and who are addressing their mental health as an adult are able to access mental health services because of this funding. This funding is critical to our ability to provide equitable access to mental health resources to the community."
